Antonio Rudiger’s Chelsea future may be the subject of speculation, but the German defender has taken to social media to respond to the Blues’ latest win.
Rudiger is facing an uncertain future at Stamford Bridge ahead of the transfer deadline, with the 27-year-old linked with a loan move to Tottenham after finding himself out of favour in west London.
Once again, Rudiger was left out of Chelsea’s squad for the Premier League match against Crystal Palace this afternoon, having slipped down the pecking order of centre-backs at the club.
When he arrived in 2017, he became something of a fans’ favourite at Stamford Bridge, with his robust tackling and enthusiastic personality.
But he has fallen out of favour recently under Lampard, leading to increased speculation over his future ahead of the deadline on Monday.
However, he has taken to social media to respond to Chelsea’s thumping win against Crystal Palace, after the Blues ran out comfortable winners against the Eagles at Stamford Bridge.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference yesterday, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard said that there were “no new developments” over the future of Rudiger, however there are several clubs vying for his signature.
However, his omission from the squad this afternoon for the game against Palace would appear to be another big indication that the centre-back is on his way out of the club, either on loan or permanently.
West Ham are also believed to be interested in the defender, with PSG an alternative option away from the Premier League.
